Department of Computer Science and Engineering Programmes Offered

B Tech (Computer Science and Engineering)

Duration: 4 Years (Semester System)                            
This 8 semester long programme includes mandatory Industrial training of 40 days for the students of 4th semester and 6th semester. A  B Tech (CSE) graduate has a number of career opportunities open for him. The rapid pace of development in the country and the need for skilled engineers has meant that there are a number of vistas for B Tech graduates.

A fresh B Tech graduate in Computer Science has a huge scope in booming IT sector in India with plenty of jobs in the departments such as design, development, maintenance, etc. The graduates can work at positions such as programmers, web developers, and E- commerce specialists with reputed companies. They also have the option to work with many start ups that are coming up in India and abroad. A B Tech graduate in Computer Science and Engineering has a huge scope in government sector jobs also. He can also join civil services, defense services and other government departments.

Eligibility: Senior Secondary (10+2) with minimum 55% marks in aggregate and PCM and Rank in DAVUET or JEE main.

Relaxation of 5% marks in minimum aggregate score for admission to a candidate belonging to SC/ST

Admission through Lateral Entry Entrance Test (LEET) is available for students who have acquired a 3 year Diploma in Engineering.


M Tech (Computer Science and Engineering)

Duration: 2 Years (Semester System)                            

An M Tech (CSE) graduate has a number of career opportunities open for him/her. The opportunity of super-specialization and further studies (for example PhD) is always open after completing the M Tech degree. The education sector also offers many opportunities to M Tech (CSE) graduates.  Many industrial positions are available in the industry after completion of M Tech (CSE).

Eligibility: B.Tech. in any specialization with 55% marks or M. Sc. In Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics/ Electronics/Material Science or equivalent Master’s Degree with 55% marks or qualified in GATE/NET

Relaxation of 5% marks in minimum aggregate score for admission to a candidate belonging to SC/ST


Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)

The PhD programme in Computer Science and Engineering aims to provide high class research facilities to the students. The department aims to bring in projects from funding agencies to make better quality research.


  1. M Tech in Computer Science and Engineering or equivalent with 55% marks.
  2. Full Time/Part Time candidates shall be admitted to PhD programme through an entrance test.


M Tech - Part Time (Computer Science and Engineering)

Duration: 3 Years (Semester System)                            

M. Tech. Part-Time (CSE): B. Tech./ B.E. with 55% marks in relevant discipline or  equivalent. AMIE/ AMIETE/ AMACSE graduates including graduates from other Govt. recognized  professional bodies equivalent to AMIE with 55% or above marks in their qualifying examination are also eligible to apply subject to the condition that the branch adopted at graduation level must be same as the specialization applied for.
NOTE: Relaxation of 5% marks to students belonging to SC/ST categories.
